There are very few women living and teaching today, who having been born in the West, then spent nearly half their life living in the East learning from one of the last century's most profound and wise Masters, Osho.

Sarita bridges East and West and has a profound experiential understanding of the Vigyan Bhairav Tantra. I personally have learnt so much from her talks and exercises associated with its sutras.

Personal

Is this course suitable for me?

Yes! It doesn’t matter whether you work in an office, or keep the home, whether you’re a construction worker or a doctor, whether you are 20 or 90 – Tantra begins wherever you are in the moment. All that is needed is a willingness to apply awareness and love, and to jump in and try! So it’s suitable for anyone who is ready to do that.

Does it matter if I haven’t practised Tantra or meditation before?

No, Tantra begins wherever you are. All you need is a willingness to practise the methods with awareness and love. It doesn’t matter whether you have practised other forms of meditation before or not.

I’ve practised lots of Tantra. Is this course advanced enough for me?

Yes! It doesn’t matter where you are on the path. All that matters is that you are willing to practice the methods, with awareness and love, and you will go to the depth that it possible for you in this moment.

Do I need a partner to practise the meditations?

No. Sutras for both singles and couples exist in the Vigyan Bhairav Tantra. You can practise Tantric meditations no matter what your situation, whether you are married, unmarried, single, in a couple, with one lover or many. All that is needed is to open yourself to the practice and it will enhance whatever is happening in your life! See also Are all the meditations about sex?

Are all the meditations about sex?

In the Vigyan Bhairav Tantra there are approximately six meditations which involve sexuality – leaving 106 about all the other aspects of life! There will be some meditations in this series which cover and involve sex and sexuality, but a whole range of meditations about the rest of life. See Description of the online classes showing the 12 facets of Tantra.

Can I practise these meditations if I am homosexual or bi-sexual?

Yes, you can practise these meditations whatever your sexual orientation.

Does it matter what my religious or spiritual beliefs are?

No. Many spiritual masters and religions have taken inspiration from the Vigyan Bhairav Tantra. The methods offered are just that – methods. They don’t come with any philosophy or dogma; you don’t have to believe in any particular view of the world to practise them. All you need is a willingness to give them a try!

Do I need to follow Osho to take part in this series?

Not at all. Osho spoke extensively about the Vigyan Bhairav Tantra; and his discourses on it, which form The Book of Secrets, can be a wonderful companion to the series. But it isn’t necessary to follow Osho, and no prior knowledge of Osho or belief in his way of life is necessary to take part in and enjoy this series.

Can I fit the practices into my busy life?

Yes. The meditations can be woven into daily life. Some take only a few minutes to practise; others may take up to an hour. Sarita offers different time variations for many of the meditations, so you can choose to practise it for a shorter or longer period. And some of them can be done while you are carrying out the activities of your daily life.

Do I need to be in a good state of health?

For some of the meditations, yes; for some of them it doesn’t matter so much. You should be able to find something that fits with your state of health. Often there are variations you can practise depending on your physical ability, and you can always ask Sarita for a variation to fit your circumstance.

Am I too young or too old for this course?

Probably not! Sarita started on the path of Tantra when she was only 17. Many older people are attracted to practise Tantra – there is no upper age limit. You may need to adapt some of the meditations depending on your state of health, But Sarita can advise you on this.

What do I wear to practise the meditations?

Something loose and comfortable is best, such as the kind of thing you would wear to do exercise in. It’s best not to wear anything too tight, especially on the belly.

Can I ask Sarita a question anonymously?

Yes. All questions asked of Sarita in the live chat room are sent via ‘Private chat’. This means only Sarita can see your question. If you type the word ‘Private’ before your question, she will not reveal your name when she reads out your question. E.g. She will say, ‘Someone has asked me the question: I feel embarrassed about... What do I do?’ See also How do I ask Sarita a question in the chat room? In between live Q&A sessions, you can also email Sarita at the address given to you when you subscribed for the series.

Will Sarita’s reply to my question be private?

In general, no. Sarita will speak the answer to your question in the live chat room and everyone will hear and benefit from her answer. You can, however, ask your question anonymously. See Can I ask Sarita a question anonymously? You can also email Sarita your question – she may either email you back or answer your question in the next live chat session. If she answers you by email her answer (and your question) may be used on a forum so that other people may also benefit. Your details will be disguised so that you can’t be recognised. If she answers in the chat room she wont say your name if you say in your email that you would like the answer to be private.

Can I keep my identity secret in the chat room?

Yes. You can make up an alias or sign in as anon, it’s up to you what you call yourself! And don’t use your webcam if you don’t wish to be recognised!

Will anyone talk to me in the chat room?

It’s totally OK if you want to just sit in and listen in the chat room. You don’t need to answer or do anything. There will be plenty of people asking questions so you can just relax and enjoy and join in if and when you want to.

How long is each class?

The video classes vary in length from 35-50 minutes. The live Q&A sessions will run for approximately 45 minutes, but allow a little longer!

How do I use the chat room?

We have prepared a separate guide to using the chat room. See our Chat Room Guide for all the details.

How do I ask Sarita a question in the chat room?

This is done by using Private Chat – click on Sarita in the User box and select Private Chat. If she accepts your request, type in your question and click ‘Send’. It’s as easy as that! See also our Chat Room Guide.

My question in the Private Chat box disappears when I click on ‘Send’. What do I do?

Check to see if your text colour has defaulted to white! If it has, choose another colour in the format toolbar under the ‘Conversation Area’.

Can I ask Sarita a question via the Conversation chat box?

This is not a good idea. There will probably be lots of conversations going on and it will be easy for Sarita to miss your question. Use Private Chat instead – see How do I ask Sarita a question in the chat room?

What do I use the Conversation chat box for?

Messages here are seen by everyone in the chat room. It’s a good place to say hello, introduce yourself and say where you are from. You can also type a response in here if Sarita asks everyone a general question e.g. ‘Who would like to know more about this issue?’ or ‘What do you notice in your body when you do this meditation?

Can I ask my question or share my experience using my microphone and webcam?

Technically, yes. However, we’ve been advised not to do this as there can be feedback problems with the sound (you need to use headphones and not computer or external speakers to help avoid this problem). There is also a six second delay (depending on your location) between you asking the question and Sarita hearing it. Despite this, we might try it anyway, so be prepared if you’d like to share in this way! See Chat Room Guide for more details.

Will everyone be able to see me if I use my webcam?

Sarita will be able to see you and so will other course participants in the chat room.

How do I email Sarita my question?

If you would like to email Sarita a question, you will need to Register for the series and you will be given a dedicated email address for Sarita.

How long will Sarita take to answer my question?

That depends on her schedule at any given time. Sarita may not reply directly to every question – especially if many people are asking the same question. She will either answer it via the live chat (we will send you an email to let you know if your question has been selected for live chat) or she may post the answer on the VBT Club Forum.

How do I find the VBT Club forum?

This will be available at a later date – we will let you know as soon as it’s available.

Where can I find a copy of the sutras given in the class?

Each class comes with a set of notes detailing the sutras and any quotes or poems Sarita has used. These will be available where you access your video class and can be read online or printed. You can also find the sutras in Osho’s Book of Secrets. Page numbers are indicated on the notes.

Where can I buy The Book of Secrets?

Through the School of Awakening shop.

There’s sometimes a delay between the video and the audio in the chat room. Is that normal?

Yes. It is due to the speed of the internet which is affected by the number of users. At busy times, the delays will be longer.

How do I see the video class in Full Screen mode?

Use the scroll bars below and to the right of the video box and pull them to the bottom right corner where you will see an icon with 4 arrows. Click on this and you will see the video in Full Screen mode, MUCH BETTER!

Can I pause or ‘rewind’ the video class or adjust the volume?

Do I need headphones to use the live chat room or can I use my computer speakers?
