Colour Light Therapy for children
Maria Margarita is an Acupuncturist and Colour Light Therapist working in private practice and also within the NHS in two GP surgeries in Somerset.
Her cases studies do not only show the effectiveness and array of applications for Colour Light Therapy, but also valuable information for new Practitioners.
Treating children with Colour Light Therapy is a real joy. Their pictures are very simple [drawing pictures is a Colour Light diagnostic technique] and have clear indications for choosing treatments and they respond well to very little treatment.
I have done Prenatals on a number of children. Here are some examples:
Developmental problems and mucus
The first is a baby whose mother had fallen down the stairs in the final weeks of pregnancy. She was 18 months old but more like a baby of 9 months in her development. She had no teeth and constant mucus. She appeared to be unresponsive to external stimuli but all her senses worked fine.
After the Prenatal series she grew her first teeth (within a few weeks) and her parents reported that she was responding more (her carer at the Special unit she attended also remarked on this).
I continued to treat her for the mucus, with dietary advice (she was on cow’s formula and switched to soya) and yellow on Stomach 36 [an acupuncture point] daily. The Colour Light was a turning point for her and a kick-start to her development.
Fits following a late Caesarean birth
A girl of 5 had fits at bedtime. I checked out her history and they had started at birth. She was a late Caesarian and had probably been oxygen-deprived just before birth. Prenatals was the obvious choice. I did the first 2 treatments with her mum watching. Then I supervised her doing the 3rd. I did the last treatment too.
After the series, her fits changed. She normally had one big one at bedtime, and another if she woke. They changed to a different pattern. Her first one going to sleep was mild with none in the night. Her mood changed and she became more calm. I emphasized to her parents to pursue the NHS route, as the GP had been dismissive.
Colour Light Therapy can also bring good results even without a full series like Prenatals. Here are some other success stories of treating children with small treatments.
Baby clingy and waking frequently at night
A mother brought her 9 month old baby girl who had been waking frequently every night since birth. She was also very clingy since she was born, and her mother was getting worried and desperate.
I asked her if she would do me some diagnosis pictures ‘by Proxy’ for her daughter and she agreed. It seemed to work because the pictures indicated very clearly the arrangement and colour of points in the Life Stream treatments. I did one of these – not easy on an upright, wriggling baby. But she calmed and sat transfixed as the treatment progressed.
At the end she held out her arms to me and pulled me towards her. She put her forehead very deliberately against mine and held me there while she looked into my eyes. I felt I was being thanked and blessed.
Her mother was very relieved when from that day she began to sleep through, and became more confident. Her mother said "she is a different child, maybe the real her at last.’"
Conjunctivitis – an alternative to having an operation
A little girl of 3 had conjunctivitis in her left eye since birth. The hospital advised that her tear duct was blocked but she did have tears coming from it so her mother didn’t want an operation.
She did me 2 lovely pictures (before and after she said) the first of which showed her face with a blemish on her left eye and a womb like picture with another blemish in the eye.
There was a clear outline of a man’s head with lines on his head. I did the Love Treatment with Energy Conversion eye points. The problem cleared up and hasn’t returned.
Childhood Asthma
This girl is 10 and suffers from asthma. It started when she was 7 after her sister’s hamster died. She had acupuncture to start with which stopped the asthma with a one off treatment every 6 months or so. I had also done Function Circle Lung/Large Intestine Ear and Teeth. Her first picture showed a swirl of lots of colour, very chaotic. The second was very linear and ordered, with a thick purple line across the middle. The last was a bunch of flowers in a head, but had black drawn over it.
This reminded me of the Neurasthenic Line in the children’s book of Colour Light Therapy. I felt her pictures were showing a kind of ordering from chaos so I thought this would help. I followed with her Numerology Points for Individual Potential (Advanced). I finished with the Love Treatment.
Insomnia and Anxiety
This 12-year-old girl has had one treatment per year since 2006 to help her sleep. She was a real worrier, and had started not sleeping well in her final year at primary school. The Insomnia Treatment worked well. I did it once only 2 years running.
This year I asked her to draw some pictures. The first was a giant purple eye with no eyelashes and red in the centre and a small upturned triangle sitting on top amid pink surround. The second was a brown eye with turquoise centre and lots of eyelashes. The third picture was a lovely criss-cross of rainbow colours.
Since she drew a triangle I decided to do a Pyramid Treatment and chose one from a small series for the vegetative nervous and hormonal system. It has indications for sleeplessness with a central turquoise point for traumas. Whilst receiving the treatment she felt pressure inside her head, and a dizzy feeling like wind that came out through her nose. I followed with the Love Treatment.
